What exactly is contract research?

The term "contract research" stands for scientific research for a customer. private or public sector client. The decisive characteristic is dependency. The research objectives and methods as well as the further use of the results are not determined by the research organisation, but by the client.

Details on the research content, remuneration and handling of the rights to the research results are set out in a Research and development contract The contract is defined as an agreement concluded between the contract research organisation or contract research company and the client.
